ACTIVE WATCHFUL WAITING
Safeguarding children from institutional harm
The guidelines, and the clinics that cite them
Australian gender clinics claim to follow standards — AusPATH, WPATH, the Royal Children's Hospital. AWW audits both: the guidelines themselves, and the clinics that cite them as authority. Every document on this page is an audit against a stated legal or regulatory standard, and every finding is downloadable in full.
SECTION 1 - THE GUIDELINES
Australian gender clinics cite three documents as their authority: the AusPATH, RCH and WPATH standards of care. These are clinical guidelines, not law. They cannot lower, replace, or excuse the obligations a clinic already has — a clinic that cites them remains bound by those obligations in full.
AWW audits each clinic against that law, not against the guidelines it cites: the prohibition on misleading and deceptive conduct (Australian Consumer Law, ss 18 and 29), the advertising provisions of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (s 133), and the Medical Board's Good Medical Practice code. An audit is not an opinion. A clinic fails where it makes a therapeutic claim without disclosing the material risks, evidence limitations, or safeguards these instruments require.
The test is public-facing and repeatable. Every finding cites the clinic's own published words, dated and archived. A clinic could pass tomorrow by disclosing what it currently omits. None has.
